How to remove Temporary and prefetch files in windows

There are many Unwanted files just like Temporary or Prefetch  files in computer. That’s are auto created in temp ot prefetch folders in windows. When these files are many more in size so decrease your computer speed and its also full of your hard disk space. So to increase your computer speed its recommended to delete all these files regularly from your computer.

What is Temporary or Prefetch Files :- Temporary and Prefetch files are automatically created in your computer by windows or web browser. When you open a any files in computer or open any page on internet browser then windows and web browser are saved a temporary copy of that files and web page in temp or prefetch folder. Because if you want to open these files again so that’s are very quickly open again if these files  are saved in temp folder.

Why we need to delete Temporary files :-  When we open a any files and web page so windows and browser are automatically created a duplicate files in temp folder. When temporary file more large size so Temporary files change the large amount of space in your disk. And your hard disk is full. Then your computer  is working slow and you are facing computer hanging problems. So its very important to delete temporary files from computer.

How to remove Temporary and prefetch files in windows

To remove Temporary file and prefetch file is very easy and you remove it himself. This Article is helps you to remove temporary files from your computer. To remove temporary or prefetch files  you need to follow some steps below :-

Temporary files are saved in different location – There are two temp folder 1st user/appdata/local/temp 2nd location of temp folder in windows – C: drive/windows/temp.

(A) Delete Temporary files in user :-

2 When temp folder is open then sellect all files by pressing ctrl +A button and delete all files.




(B) Delete Temporary files in windows :- 

1.  First go to run box by pressing windows + R button  type temp and press OK button. After that press ok button to give permission to allow  to open a temp folder.

2 When temp folder is open then sellect all files by pressing ctrl +A button and delete all files.

(C)  Delete Prefetch files :- 

      Prefetch files are stored in windows folder in windows drive default c: drive.

1. Open my computer and go in C drive or your windows installed drive.

2. Then Go to windows folder and search here prefetch  folder and open it

3. When Prefetch folder is open then sellect all files by pressing ctrl +A button and delete all files.

Note :-  When you all files Temporary or Prefetch files after that you most delete these files from Recycle bin. Or empty your recycle bin.

Note :- If some temporary or Prefetch  files are not able to deleted. Then restart your computer and RUN your computer in safe mode. (When computer is start then continuously press F8 button that’s is available in top rows of keyboard. by pressing F8 you see option safe mode select safe mode by up and down arrow and press enter  ) And then delete temporary or prefetch files that’s you don’t have able to delete in normal mode.
