SECURITY IN DOMAIN NETWORK
                    In a domain network, security policies are
applied using the following tools present in the DC:
Domain
Controller Security Policy: – This tool is used to apply security only on the
domain controller.
Domain
Security Policy: – This tool is used to apply security on the clients in the
domain network and also on the DC.
Group
Policy: – Group Policy can be used to apply security policies on the domain, organization
unit (OU) and the site. To apply Group Policy, we use Group Policy Object
(GPO). GPO is a set of security settings that can change behavior of computers.
APPLYING GROUP POLICY ON THE DOMAIN
1. Go to your DC and open ‘Active Directory
Users and Computers’.
2. Right-click on the domain-name (e.g., xyz.com)
> properties > Group Policy.
3. Click on New and give a name to the policy.
4. Click on Up.
5. Click on Edit. Group Policy Object Editor will
open.
6. Edit your policies and close the Editor.
7. Click Apply and O.K.
8. In the RUN, type cmd > O.K. and give the
command:
             
gpupdate
9. Press Enter.
10. Restart the client computers which must be the
member of the domain.
